Solutions / Implementation Consultant Core Security Technologies
The Solutions Consultant's primary responsibilities are to assist customers in deploying Core Security Technologies software products and to ensure proof-of-concepts or customer projects are delivered on-time and on-budget. The Solutions Consultant will participate in technical pre-sales, business development activities, and contribute to the product direction by working closely with Core's sales, marketing, and product management teams. The Solutions Consultant will demonstrate product leadership by facilitating pre-sales proof-of-concepts, requirement-gathering sessions, writing well-defined statements of work and specification documents, architecting and documenting a well thought-through solution consistent with Core's best practices, and driving projects to successful deployment by leveraging appropriate Core resources.
The successful candidate will have strong client-management skills (with past technical pre-sales or professional services experience), relationship-building skills, solid project management experience, negotiating skills, and must be able to successfully drive multiple projects in parallel. This position requires extensive short-term travel of up to 60% (locally and internationally). The position is currently open in the San Francisco Bay Area (CA).
Responsibilities:
Work closely with pre-sales to broadly agree on, and then refine customer solutions during the sales cycle
Responsibility for the smooth transition and on-going relationship with the customer within the pre-sales function
Finalize and refine the scope, design, and architecture of the proposed solution consistent with customer environment and solution requirements post-sale
Overall responsibility for solution implementation and success of the customer
Knowledge transfer & informal training of customer technical teams to operate and manage solution in their production environments
Work with product/channel partners, and Core resources internally to assist implement the product and solutions
Required Experience:
B.S. or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related discipline
At least 6 years experience as a technical consultant in the security space (IAM, DLP, SIM/SEM, GRC or others)
At least 4 years of project management and functional leadership experience with a minimum of 2 years experience implementing and/or leading implementations of enterprise business applications software
Ability to contribute to the business development process by participating in sales calls, assisting/leading proposal development efforts and delivering client presentations
In-depth knowledge of the complete solution technical sales and implementation lifecycle from analysis to sale to deployment to customization and support
Experience or strong desire to work with, and make successful, an innovative new solution in a new product category
Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of personal accountability, integrity, and a strong work ethic. They must understand the importance of putting the customer first and delivering high quality implementations
Executive presence - ability to develop strong working relationships with their peers and all relevant parties at the customer, including C-Level execs
Experience leading and motivating teams of security and IT operations folks through the entire solution implementation lifecycle including the actual 'go-live' of new infrastructure solutions
Strong interpersonal, team building, group organizational and motivational skills are a must
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills
Key Technical Requirements:
Experience developing complex multi-dimensional enterprise architectures and the ability to understand and design solutions that consider integration of heterogeneous environments and systems
Hands-on experience in Java, J2EE related technologies, SQL (Oracle or MySQL), and Application software configuration, with full life-cycle product implementation experience
Experience working with XML (XML, XSD, XSL, XPATH, and XSLT) and other Web Services related technologies (REST Web Services, WSDL, and SOAP)
Expertise in administering Linux systems (administer, troubleshoot, and low level expertise including: syslog, bash shells, and basic shell commands)
Expertise in designing and delivering scripts for solution integration (Python and Linux/Unix shell scripting
