Solutions/Sales Engineer DeviceAnywhere
DeviceAnywhere is looking for an independent, task-driven individual to join the Solutions Team. The ideal candidate will be a person that can work in a dynamic, customer-facing role and has a passion for architecting solutions and providing excellent customer support.
As a Solutions/Sales Engineer, you must be able to contribute in the following areas:
- Providing pre and post sales technical support
- Delivering pre and post-sales professional services
- Sales engineering activities
- Ongoing technical account management to your assigned accounts
You will work within the DeviceAnywhere Solutions organization as a technical expert representing all products and services offered by DeviceAnywhere. You must be organized, be detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills.
The main tasks and responsibilities are:
- Provide pre-sales technical support to customers evaluating DeviceAnywhere products
- Ability to communicate well and assume responsibility for the appropriate architecture and technical implementation of multiple projects simultaneously
- Be an expert technical resource supporting all aspects of the technical pre and post sale
- Function as a product and solution evangelist
- Conduct formal needs assessment to better understand the unique requirements facing our customers; both immediate and long term needs
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships both via phone and in person
- Leverage your technical expertise and trusted advisor relationship to help sell more products
- Create and deliver both technical and non-technical presentations to prospective customers
- Collaborate with sales individuals to maintain partner and customer satisfaction
- Assist with customer support issues that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 support
- Respond to RFP/RFI
- Work with product management and engineering to drive product enhancements based on customer requirements
- Help resolve customer support issues
Essential skills:
- Familiarity with scripting languages or other programming languages that are common to test automation solutions - Java a must
- Experience working as a technical sales resource (Sales Engineer or Technical Account Manager)
- Excellent customer-facing skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Represent the Company at Trade Shows and Events
- Skills in presenting and demonstrating software, with good objection-handling skills
- Experience leveraging your technical skills to up sell within an account
- Experience providing pre and post sales technical support
Desired Skills:
- Experience in test automation or monitoring tools from companies like HP (formerly Mercury Interactive), Compuware, IBM or Borland
- Experience in a professional services role with a demonstrated ability to architect and implement solutions across a wide variety of customer projects
- Test Management Tools - has experienced the practical set-up, implementation, and management of a test management tools like Quality Center or ClearQuest.
- Can recommend practical ways to set-up test cases for re-use, reporting, and management
- Understands testing best practices - knows solid industry references for processes and tools.
