Job Qualifications (basic job description):
Train with Aurora QA, and once appointed as an Aurora-designated QA Inspector, travel to and perform visual and dimensional inspection for acceptance of procured parts and assemblies from suppliers prior to delivery; including composite lay-ups, cured composites, molded thermoplastic and/or thermoset materials, machined metallic parts, and/or assemblies. Must have a good attention to detail, expertise in AS9102 FAI process, mature organization and communication skills; must be able to function as a team member well-representing the company, and supporting company's goals and objectives. Candidate must have experience conducting dimensional inspections using standard precision measuring equipment (surface plate/2D height gage layout, calipers, micrometers, functional gages, etc.), visual inspection techniques, basic shop math, and complete competence in AS9102. Experience conducting dimensional inspections using portable (Romer or Faro arm) or stationary coordinate measuring machines and laser tracker is desirable, but not required.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
High school diploma or equivalent is required; associates degree in a technical discipline preferred. aerospace industry experience applicable to the position will be considered in lieu of associate degree. Three years relevant work experience in aerospace or MRO related industry with a majority of this time in a composites manufacturing focused environment. Must be able to follow written and verbal directions, perform basic math computations, read specifications, basic computer skills (Word, Excel and Powerpoint), ability to learn, use basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometer, protractor, etc.).
Ability to travel extensively.
