The Southeast Asia Regional Sales Director will report to the VP of Sales, which develops and licenses networking software solutions primarily to networking equipment manufacturers as well as some sophisticated end-users (typically large service providers). The ideal candidate will have leadership responsibility for sales of networking software solutions in the Southeastern Asia Pacific region (primarily in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following.
Directing sales activities in the Southeast Asia region (mainly in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam).
Working with our existing channel partners while developing new channel partnerships.
The successful candidate must have the following.
A strong network of connections with local telecommunication companies such as Singtel, Starhub, Axiata, Telkomsel, Telkom Indonesia, Celcom, Maxis, Telekom Malaysia, AIS, TRU, CAT, TOT.
A minimum 8-10 years progressive successful experience selling complex software technology solutions to Asian networking equipment manufacturers.
Deep relationships within network equipment manufacturers, proven capability to develop and manage sales opportunities from beginning to end including qualification, proposal creation, negotiation and closing.
Knowledge of the channel sales market and key players in the region and the ability to leverage the right partner for each opportunity.
Thorough understanding of the networking equipment market, ideally with deep technical knowledge of layer 2/3 protocols (Ethernet, IP Routing, and MPLS) and software-defined networking (SDN); knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.248, MGCP, IMS) would be an advantage.
The ability to excel in a fast-paced, team environment with a passion for selling and customer focus.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills as well as high energy levels and an inherent hunger for sales!
The ability to work independently in a global organization with team-members in Europe and North America (with early morning / late evening phone calls as necessary).
Fluency in the English language, both spoken and written.
BA/BS degree (an MS/MBA would be advantageous).
Location and Travel
Unless located near an existing Metaswitch office, the successful candidate will be based at a home office and must be willing to travel extensively to customer locations and, less frequently, to Metaswitch offices in Europe / North America. Location preference would be Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, but other locations in the Southeast Asia region will be considered.
