Summary:
This position conducts ongoing Westwood campus Inpatient retrospective medical record reviews on a monthly basis.
Coordinating and tabulating record review information from Westwood campus Inpatient open record reviews, Santa Monica record reviews, and Westwood Outpatient Ambulatory record reviews
Data is routinely entered into the Plato software system.
Ensures timely processing of medical record review data by providing responsible personnel with accurate reports and trending data.
Responsibilities
Reviews Inpatient medical records using pre-established criteria to evaluate the presence of required documentation content.
Works with details and makes comparisons of medical record content according to departmental policies and procedures and the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
Completes data quality assessment, data aggregation, management and reporting of the medical record documentation compliance.
Assures medical record review summary and statistical data is recorded, distributed and communicated to appropriate personnel in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintains the security and confidentiality of data and information used in the performance of these duties conforming to hospital policy, laws, and regulations as appropriate.
Must have the ability to work with details and make comparisons of medical record content according to hospital policy and accreditation regulations.
Assist with special projects on an as needed basis.
Requirements
Credentialed as an RHIA or RHIT through AHIMA or eligible.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience working in a related position within a Health Information Management Department.
Knowledge of CPR Technologies ? Plato Data Analyzer software a plus.
Must have a thorough knowledge of chart analysis, medical terminology and be familiar with JC requirements.
