Sports and Activewear Apparel Designer Pinks and Greens
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We are seeking an Apparel Designer to develop and design our premiere private label collection. You'll work with leadership andteam members in design, production and merchandising to ensure design feasibility, meet merchandising needs and make product creation timelines. You'll also provide prototype sampling information including fabrication, trim, color, graphic applications, style, fit requirements, and construction detail including fabric and stitching specific toactivewear.
You'll monitor the design and development of samples and interact with our production factory, pattern makers, and fabric and tag/heat transfer vendors to exchange ideas and ensure the timely completion of each project. This opportunity also involves building a deep understanding ofour customer, current trends, color, technology and sports-related products through market research.
Develop and execute product designs that achieve overall product strategy and merchandise objectives.
Lead the team in development of color and seasonal trends.
Interpret seasonal fashion direction and merchandise trends
Produce product presentations, including boards and samples to help support design and direction
Prepare line and presentation material for line previews including color boards, concept boards, print and story boards.
Shop the trend market seeking design inspiration (materials, fashion, color, and trade).
Select and approve styles, materials, trims and colors that fit into the program and style plans.
Review development samples and collaborate with mechanicals team.
Bachelor?s Degree in Design or related.
Minimum 5+ years of activewear apparel industry experience.
Extensive knowledge of the creation of a collection including: negotiating price, minimums, lead times, fabric sourcing, pattern making, cutting, samples and production.
In-depth knowledge of silhouette, fabrication, construction and trim specifications.
Proficient skills in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Ability to create print and pattern work with strong sense of color knowledge.
Demonstrated creative ability.
Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines.
