SQA AUTOMATION ENGINEER Aylus Networks

The successful candidate will be a key hands-on contributor to developing, maintaining and extending functional, automated test scenarios for Aylus Networks Mobile Media Streaming solutions. The engineer will be part of a small team of focused SQA engineers. The candidate must collaborate effectively with the software development engineers to learn our products, understand the test automation requirements and incrementally deliver well-coded automated testing solutions that complement our manual test efforts.
This role is also responsible for documenting the automation strategy, executing the tests and interpreting the results. It is also expected that the engineer will perform as an automation champion and will help to groom the collective test automation skill set within the team.
The ideal candidate must also demonstrate flexibility via a willingness to participate in manual testing efforts as project priorities warrant, such as interaction with the Customer Support team for reported problem reproduction.
Design and develop test plans based upon functional and design specifications.
Develop and maintain automated test suites for video and VoIP based application server, API and web services testing.
Participate actively in functional, system and regression testing activities.
Analyze and report defects and work with software engineers to resolve them.
Participate in functional specification, test specification, documentation and code reviews.
Perform hands-on testing of video and VoIP based application server, web applications, and mobile device applications.
BS degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent professional work experience..
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Tcl, expect, shell scripting, etc.
Experience with testing Web applications and APIs.
Experience in SQL and database concepts.
Experience with video and VoIP protocols and mobile applications testing.
