BTI?s Littleton Software Team currently has an opportunity for an experienced SQA Engineer. In this role you will provide design verification testing from within the development team in support of on-going development efforts of packet based optical products.Responsibilities will include:
Executing design verification programs for Ethernet switching products;
Creating detailed system and feature level test plans for Ethernet switching products;
Developing test cases for and incrementally enhance automated test environments;
Recording testing progress and enter bug reports as required;
Providing guidance on optimal verification coverage in consultation with design engineers;
Providing an expert guidance for new Ethernet feature testing methodologies;
Configuring and working with a wide variety of optical and packet networking and test equipment.
The successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science;
8+ years of testing experience coupled with 3+ testing carrier Ethernet products;
Excellent understanding of L2 (ERPS, MSTP) and/or networking protocols;
Experience with automation test and infrastructure development in TCL, Perl, or Java;
Experience with one of Ixia, Spirent or Agilent test equipment is required;
Excellent understanding of Carrier Ethernet standards 802.1ad, 802.1ah, 802.1ag;
Good understanding of Metro Ethernet Standards MEF9 and MEF14;
Good understanding of Ethernet OAM methodologies;
Knowledge of optical networking concepts;
Good understanding of software development cycles;
Excellent communications skills ? verbal and written;
Personal drive to succeed;
Strong organizational skills;
Ability to deliver on given responsibilities;
Team oriented working habits;
Enthusiastic and self-motivated;
Able to work independently and creatively when blocked.
