SQA Engineer - Performance Palo Alto Networks

The Software QA Engineer-Performance is responsible for testing Palo Alto Networks' next-generation firewall. Your role will interface with Senior Engineers and Architects to interpret the variables that affect design and performance while gaining a deep understanding of the system architecture of our bleeding-edge technology. You will develop and execute test plans to determine the capabilities of the system under different network conditions. You will work closely with the Software Engineering and Product Management teams to validate system behavior under heavy load and scale and develop and maintain complex test bed environments for performance and scale testing. You will drive performance tuning for our products.

Requirements:

• 2+ years' experience in a QA position
• Experience with factors of network performance, preferably with firewalls and intrusion prevention products.
• Knowledge of TCP protocol operations
• Strong L3 network testing experience with knowledge of most common switching and routing protocols.
• Knowledge of encryption and tunneling protocol test methods: IPsec, SSL, SSL VPN
• Experience with common network test tools, Spirent, BreakingPoint, IXIA.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with acquisition and set up of third party networking equipment
• Experience with Windows and Linux system set up and administration in a lab environment.

Education:

• BS or advanced degree in computer engineering or related technical field.
