About the Team
The SQA team is expanding due to company growth. The team is responsible for testing all programs and products coming out of engineering including websites, handsets, web services? This is a small team where everyone is an expert and enjoys working on challenging projects.
About the Job
Reporting into the Director of Software Engineer, this position is responsible for managing the SQA teams, making sure projects are on schedule and the team resources are properly and efficiently utilized.
Responsibilities
Manage/Lead team of SQA Engineers and technicians
Handle hiring and performance evaluations of direct reports
Participate in coaching and mentoring direct reports
Plan, estimate, schedule the testing effort for any given project
Report progress to the Director of Software Engineering
Handle issues found and communicate them in the following way:
Detect issues
Analyze risk
Recommend course of action
Participate in decision making process
Work closely with other teams inside engineering and outside of engineering
Participate in triaging field reported issues (with Project Management and SWDEV Manager)
Participate in interview panels across other teams within the department
Assists with the development, implementation and management of:
Internal SQA processes by creating agreement and alignment within the team
Cross team processes as a participant with peers from other teams
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: 2-5 years of SQA experience in a lead or manager role with 5 or more direct reports
Desired Qualifications
Education: BS in CS or EE preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience as an SQA manager with 5 or more direct reports
