SQA Manager Data Robotics
Overview
The SQA Manager is a hands-on coding role but with a wide scope to lead and manage the project test teams of Drobo?s cutting-edge storage technologies. The key individual will have an active role for the day-to-day execution and management of the planning, development, maintenance, and execution of manual and automated tests in SAN, NAS, and direct-attached storage. The successful candidate will be obsessed with quality improvement and completely immersed in and committed to building a world-class Software Quality Assurance team.
Responsibilities
Provide strong leadership, vision, and direction for the SQA organization as well as represent SQA in cross-functional product teams
Understand the technical aspect of the Drobo product family and develop and drive a high-level strategy as well as take a hand-on approach to troubleshooting problems and analyzing results effectively
Accountable for product quality from start to finish, including editing and maintaining test strategies, transformation of test strategies into test plans, execution of test plans, and evaluation of test results
Analyze changing business requirements and convert them into test plans
Provide technical expertise to IT staff on the design and implementation of test processes
Communicate progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years proven success managing an SQA team in networking or data storage focused company
At least 8 years experience with strong programming and automation skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
Strong technical understanding of SAN, NAS, and direct-attached storage technologies
Proven track record of continual improvements in SQA process, optimizing resources to reach business project goals, and experience with project management and agile methodologies
Hands-on experience in functional, system, performance, and interoperability testing
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of MS Windows, Mac OSX and Unix/Linux
Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
Highly Desired
Understanding of RAID concepts and/or virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, XenServer); certification is a strong plus
Working knowledge of storage technologies such as AFP, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, SATA, SAS; understand concepts related to block-level devices and file systems
Experience using test management, defect tracking, and source code management systems
Experience with TestLink, Jira, and Subversion
Experience with embedded environments such as VxWorks and Linux
Knowledge of test tools such as Wireshark, JetStress, QuickBench, IOMeter, and Medusa (MLTT)
