The role of the SQA Test Engineer is to be involved in the full testing lifecycle process in support of DSC?s precision 3d imaging products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop specific test cases for new features and capabilities
Develop and manage test cases for overall system functionality
Design and implement test methodologies which will provide full breadth of coverage, while reducing overall test time and redundancy.
Specifically evolve a test methodology and tracking system
Develop overall test plans and schedules, understanding functionality, coverage, schedules and risks
Understand test needs and daily/weekly plan for test execution
Specify and/or assign test cases to be executed in order to meet test plans and overall testing goals
Track overall test execution vs planned test execution
Report test progress, coverage, defect metrics, overall assessment as required
Report defects using current agreed upon tools and process
Provide guidance and assistance to SQA team for isolating, characterizing, and reproducing defects
Schedule and run defect review meetings with SQA, Development, Apps, Support, Marketing
Write release notes for all external software releases
Seven years total experience in product development roles (development and/or test)
Five years experience exclusively in a formalized product testing role (automated)
Bachelors Degree in a Technical Discipline (Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering)
Possess very good understanding & working knowledge of agile development & test processes
Ability to create Test Plans, Test Cases, and Traceability Matrices
Ability to create & manage defects utilizing a formal defect tracking system
Must have Experience with MS SQL, Server config, GUI
Other Experience: MATLAB, HTML5, PHP, Python, TCL/tkl
Must be able to design, develop, and expand test automation framework, continually refine process, improve test cycle efficiency and overall software quality.
Must have understanding of System Testing and all aspects of integration of API testing.
Ability to create a balanced data set of test information to use with test harness.
Ability to understand graphical analysis of image comparing.
Familiarity with both COTS hardware and custom embedded hardware components
Excellent inter-personal skills & the ability to work effectively both independently & in a fast-paced, team environment
Ability to quickly grasp new technology & adapt to frequent changes in business direction
Exposure to formalized software programming/software development
Experience testing, debugging, & troubleshooting of Client/Server & Web based applications
Familiarity with debugging tools & system level debugging techniques
Ten years total experience in Product Development role (development and/or test)
Seven years experience exclusively in a automated product testing role
Experience designing & developing software applications/software based products
Experience testing & troubleshooting imaging systems & applications
Experience with Defect Tracking and Software Version Control software
Ability to frequently sit, and reach within hands and arms length.
Regularly required to use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, etc.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.
Individual?s primary workstation is located in an office with daily interaction in the production/manufacturing/lab areas.
