Rigorously putting software, firmware, electrical/mechanical hardware, and optical systems through the ringer, you ensure product integrity is achieved and issues negated. This is not a 9 to 5 job. You will be part of a deeply impassioned team that is singularly focused on successfully balancing test case execution speed with test case result accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide hands on guidance and direction to a small, fast paced, hardworking, highly technical team
Lead the creation of test cases and testing scenarios that are used to effectively identify product issues
Develop and expand the organizations Functional, Performance, Stability, and Scalability testing capabilities
Continually identify testing improvement opportunities through automation and process improvement
Mentor team members on best practices and standards used throughout the product development lifecycle
Provide an effective balance between test case execution speed and test case result accuracy
Support the simultaneous testing of multiple product offerings that are in various stages of development
Ensure team Test Reports and Defect Reports are unique, accurate, clear, complete, and relevant
Attend daily Defect Prioritization meetings and actively participate in the prioritization process
Develop and update Testing Dashboards that provide accurate summaries of overall product testing status
Represent the testing team at Cross Functional team status and release readiness meetings
Operate in an Agile development environment; participate in daily scrum and sprint planning exercises
Provide high level Test Coverage Plans and report actual Test Coverage versus planned progress
Coordinate Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III technical support between DSC Field Support, QA, and Engineering
Minimum Qualifications:
BS Degree in a scientific discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
3+ years? experience managing product testing teams (Engineering & QA Testing involving BOTH hardware and software).
Proven experience developing and expanding Functional, Performance, Stability, & Scalability testing capabilities within a high-tech Agile organization
Software, firmware, electrical/mechanical hardware, and optical system development knowledge
Experience deploying/using Test Case Management, Defect Tracking, ALM, and PLM tools
Strong written, verbal, and documentation skills. Ability to lead through influence
Ability to occasionally travel as business needs dictate
Desired Qualifications:
MS Degree in a scientific discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
8+ years? experience managing product testing teams (Engineering & QA Testing)
Experience integrating with remote teams comprised of Employees, Contractors, Partners, & Customers
Working knowledge of general Configuration Management philosophies
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax machine, and telephone
Occasionally required to bend and lift objects of up to 35 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision & use of computer monitors a great deal of time.
Work Environment:
Individual?s primary workstation is located in an office area with ability to frequently work in a manufacturing/lab environment.
The noise level in this environment is low/moderate.
