PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analytics plays a key role within Adknowledge and our vision is to ?to provide a central information repository to generate value in the form of Gross Profit across the organization,? with an overall motto of ?Test, Learn, and Evolve.?
The Data Analytics department has a strong technology infrastructure, consisting wholly of proprietary data developed for the following functions:
Innovation through cutting edge technologies, enhancing optimizations for the channels, and improving algorithmic approaches.
Drive differentiation for Adknowledge by collecting and leveraging proprietary cross channel data.
Have a material impact to Gross Profit for channel focused product improvements.
Improving cross channel collaboration to move the business forward and provide value with efficient implementation cycles between the Channels and Analytics department.
SQL analysts provide the most value by collaborating with the team statisticians and engineers to provide fast and accurate access to complex data. Through understanding the complex data provided by each of the different business channels, how the data sets can be used together and where they are different, the SQL analyst is an invaluable part of the Business Intelligence process. Primary duties include:
Develop and maintain a platform with appropriate use of schema, analytical cubes, and external data sources for corporate and customer reporting from a single set of proprietary tools.
Working with business information users to develop requirements and offer a vision for what is possible given the available data.
Using views and stored procedures to manipulate data and simplify access to data.
Find answers to business questions via hands-on exploration of data sets via SQL.
?Additional duties may include:
Optimize existing SQL queries
Building/maintaining ETL systems
Basic analysis and/or visualization of data
Reporting & presentation of findings

Position Reports To: Director, Data Analytics
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Bachelors Degree
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in PostgreSQL and Unix environments
Exposure to any statistical software (SAS, SPSS, R, Minitab, JMP, S+), SAS or R preferred
Experience with pivot tables and graphs in Microsoft Excel
Basic understanding of Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics and their applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to explain complex ideas in layman?s terms
Strong business acumen
