SQL Server Database Administrator ClickSquared
The SQL Server Database Administrator provides database administration and system support for existing production database environments to include performance of the following related tasks: software installation, patch installation, upgrades, query writing, configuration, database creation, security, system monitoring and tuning, disaster recovery planning, implementation and backup and recovery.Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Must have strong understanding of SQL 2005 and SQL 2008
Must exhibit excellent scripting abilities to automate system maintenance tasks
Tune the OS and hardware to achieve optimal performance
Strong Logical Physical data modeling skills
Ability to diagnose performance problems from a SQL and operating system perspective
Ability to optimize very complex SQL stored procedures, views and functions
Experience with developing and maintaining SQL Reporting Services
Must have a good understanding of SQL server and integration services security
Create and administer a backup and recovery plan that adheres to department policy for archiving rules
Provide subject matter expertise for database platforms (i.e. SQL Server & Netezza) to Tech Services and R&D
Implement and monitor key database metrics for optimization and redesign opportunities
Design and document standards for database infrastructure design and configuration
Perform Level 3 problem resolution on existing data related capabilities and services
Assist and provide advice on developing optimized, reusable and reliable database code
Assist in making/ensuring environments are SOC compliant
Troubleshoot system and database issues as they arise
Work in conjunction with System administrators
Experience:
6+ years of SQL experience
4+ years of SQL DBA experience
4+ years of Windows Server experience
4+ years of scripting experience
3+ years data warehousing
Committed to a cooperative team approach
Ability to self manage
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be willing to be accessible during off-hours in order to maintain expected level of services and take action where appropriate
Additional Skills:
Data modeling software (ER Studio or Erwin)
Linux experience
SQL Data partioning experience
1-2 years Integration services development
