Title:
Server Escalation Support Engineer ? Support Engineering

Technical aptitude in resolving complex technical installation and/or integration issues
Ability to read server source code in Java, C# or C++
SQL DB program operation experience
Responsibilities include:
Provides email and telephone technical support
Writes and reviews technical notes, articles and documentation
Reports and tracks technical support issues
Good knowledge of database programming interfaces and database usage - MS SQL, Oracle, or other RDBMS
Good knowledge of Internet technologies - HTML/XML, HTTP/HTTPS,JSP, Servlets
Experience in designing, implementing, and debugging complex software systems and applications via log analysis and referencing source code
Provide root cause analysis of customer issues.
Develop workarounds to existing product lines when applicable.
Train and lead other Escalations Engineers and/or senior Technical Support Engineers.
Provide an engineering interface to the Technical Support team.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
Qualifications:
Good knowledge of either Java, C# or C++
Good knowledge of database programming interfaces and database usage - MS SQL, Oracle, or other RDBMS
Good knowledge of Network technologies - Proxy server, Load Balancers, TCP/IP, UDP
Good knowledge of Internet technologies - HTML/XML, HTTP/HTTPS, JSP, Servlets
Good knowledge of email and messaging technologies ? SMTP, IMAP, POP3, MAPI
Good presentation and documentation skills
Excellent customer interaction skills (via telephone and email)
Ability to operate and thrive in a multitasking interrupt-driven environment
3-5 years in a support role; 10+ years work experience, ideally in software development or IT Administration
An aptitude for solving complex server and networking issues.
An ability to read and analyze log files and correspond trace messages to source code.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in mobile technologies and standards
Experience with Windows servers, Active Directory and Domain controllers
Experience with iOS and Android devices
Experience in the Enterprise market
Experience with bug tracking system, developer forums and knowledge base
Scalable multi-tier services
Distributed computing
xWireless technologies (WAP, SyncML, IMAP, iMode)
Windows development (Win32 APIs, COM)
