Description:You will be responsible for leading the planning, design and execution of database administration, server optimization, and performance tuning in customers? production and sandbox environments. Responsibilities:
Plan, design and develop, test and modify database management systems and configurations (Microsoft SQL Server)
Support and perform maintenance, backup and recovery of existing databases
Act as the 3rd level of support for the resolution of trouble tickets regarding applications/database/network problems
Document best practices and solutions
Monitor production systems, resource utilization, server capacity planning
Represent the production team in the planning, design and development of complex database and system activities in the cloud
Fine-tuning and load balancing of servers, as well as security configurations
Assist in data migration and recovery of local or remote databases
Ensure that Tenrox deployments are following internal and industry standards
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 Years of directly related work experience with MS SQL Server
Experience in supporting MS SQL clusters, replication and log shipping
Experience with highly available environments (7/24) with multiple large databases
Deep understanding of MS SQL engine internals (index, statistics, optimizer, cache etc.)
Very strong query performance analysis and tuning (SQL queries, indexes etc.)
Knowledge and experience with database partitioning, compression and encryption
Familiar with structured work processes (project plans, problem management)
Works well in a team/collaborative environment
Participation of on-call time required during maintenance and support windows
Experience with backup compression tools (e.g. Red Gate SQL Backup)
Knowledge of database and enterprise application stress testing, tuning a plus
