We are seeking at Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This key position interacts with individuals at all levels of the organization and must demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to work under pressure. This role requires a self-starter; someone who will stand out as a leader in the department and have the ability to take initiative when needed.
Daily responsibilities will include:
Serve as a key leader in the department monitoring, directing and serving as a mentor to existing staff
Use judgment and professional skill in determining appropriate procedures and processes for accounting records
Understand and adhere to the financial policies and procedures of the company
Review and monitor entries to the finance system
Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts on a monthly basis
Month End Close and associated reporting
Generate, review, analyze and communicate financial data that reflects actual financial performance against approved budgets
Participate in the annual operating budgeting process providing analysis and review
Participate in the year-end audit preparation and process; including reports in Excel, information collection and analysis.
Assistance in data collection and analysis.
Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to PHX standards regarding privacy.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting
5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant
Excellent working knowledge of GAAP and ability to research and apply technical accounting pronouncements and directives
Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills
Thorough understanding of accounting principles
Ability to interact with all departments within the company
Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
