Reporting to the Assistant Controller this position will perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures, interface with the financial team, and external auditors. This includes analyzing Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts, preparing journal entries, preparing audit support schedules and related deliverables as well as working with the external auditors to ensure conclusion of results occur prior to the financial reporting dates and refining internal reporting processes. The candidate will also prepare various analyses to support external audit and reporting requirements and other ad hoc management reporting projects.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Support the Assistant Controller in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end internal reports for related area and perform month end closing activities for various transactions.
Coordinate with corporate finance, operational finance teams and external auditors to prepare financial reporting-related deliverables.
Coordinate with FP&A staff to ensure results are reasonable and fluctuations are researched and explained for internal and external reporting.
Assist the corporate and operational finance teams to ensure significant transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed.
Review and analyze revenue and warranty transactions for accurate and timely reporting including maintaining detail support schedules.
Assist in the reporting of the implementation of new GAAP and SEC standards, including implementation for related area.
Assist and enhance formal processes to ensure that appropriate evidential support is maintained to support all financial disclosures in internal and external financial reports and documenting as appropriate.
Participate in external reporting systems implementations, including automation efforts and other improvements to the reporting process/efforts, to streamline processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of group's reporting and financial analysis, including the implementation of new ERP system with integrated reporting.
Support and manage timely and accurate reporting of financial results in various deliverables.
Participate in SOX 404 efforts, including documentation of processes and facilitating testing of controls, as necessary.
Special projects as needed to ensure that accounting and reporting issues are properly addressed.
Qualifications for this role are:
Substantial experience in, and working knowledge of, US GAAP.
Strong analytical, problem solving skills and collaborative skills.
Ability to lead and mentor staff accountants.
Strong time management and project management skills.
Attention to detail and process oriented.
Must be able to make judgment calls regarding the resolution of issues.
Excellent writing skills; proficient in technical accounting writing ability.
Ability to multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
5+ years working in an automated reporting environment in positions of increasing responsibility (i.e., familiarity with FASB, SEC and financial reporting experience).
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience in the multinational business environment.
Technical knowledge within High-Tech Industry.
Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
CPA or MBA preferred.
