Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Accountant to be responsible for many day-to-day aspects of the Company?s general ledger, interface with our external auditor during quarterly reviews and annual audits, and work with our internal compliance officer to ensure SOX-404 compliance. Further, the individual will drive process improvements to make the department more accurate and efficient.
Responsibilities
Prepare and process month-end close related journal entries, primarily related to accounts payables, accruals, fixed assets, and operating expenses. Prepare detailed analysis to ensure critical reserves and accruals are appropriately stated. Assist other teammates on close-related matters as needed.
Prepare monthly and/or quarterly account reconciliations and related analysis for management review.
Communicate to management unusual activity in balance sheet accounts that is discovered through research and analysis of account reviews and reconciliations.
Partner with external departments to drive changes in processes for more effective reporting and reconciliation outcomes, where appropriate.
Assist in completion of external audit schedules for quarterly and year-end audit work.
Update and/or develop policies & procedures as needed.
Work directly with internal audit in support of various Sarbanes-Oxley 404 cycles; implement internal controls and procedures related to becoming and maintaining SOX-404 compliance.
Lead special projects to identify issues and corrective actions needed for complex critical balance sheet accounts. Develop solid process and reconciliation that can be easily transitioned to staff accountant.
Perform other ad-hoc analysis and projects as needed and requested.
Experience & Skills Required
Bachelors in Business, Finance or Accounting.
A minimum of 2 years at audit firm preferred.
Experience working in an international and public-company setting with tight deadlines and filing requirements preferred.
7+ years of overall experience; at least two of these years as a Senior Accountant.
Strong base knowledge in both the practice and application of US GAAP.
Comfortable with both analyzing and simplifying complex detailed data for management, auditors and other parties.
Strong PC-based software background (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience with Oracle (FRX, Hyperion) and Microsoft Great Plains desired.
