Position Description
The Senior Business Analyst/Product Owner is the champion for the Customer. This person is the product and customer domain & workflow expert. He/she knows the business, and champions company and division goals.
Responsibilities:
Elicits requirements through market comparisons and also using customer and stakeholder input, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, user stories, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Determines and communicates the ?What?
Defines the product vision, target and window of opportunity and release contents, and clearly communicates product vision to the project development team.
Helps translate the needs for the ?What? into the reality of the How?, communicating requirements and workflows in the form of high-level user stories for project deliverables.
Prioritizes these deliverables in terms of greatest ROI and continuously grooms the backlog to ensure user requirements are clear and in rough priority order. Guides stakeholders and team in how to ?vertically slice? their projects into small but shippable deliverables
Works closely with the team on a daily basis. Guides the team to ensure sprint deliverables are fulfilling project goals but respects the team?s ability to create its own plan of action.
Attends daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos and sprint review and product backlog update meetings, and other project related meetings, as needed.
Be available to the team on a daily basis to answer questions and deliver direction.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
BA/BS
5 - 7 years of Business Analysis or Product Owner or Product Management experience
3+ eCommerce BA or Product Owner experience
3+ years in .com environments
Leadership skills; Decisive
Excellent Communication (Oral and Written)
Ability to articulate epic level user stories and acceptance criteria
Strong business knowledge and good technical understanding. Ability to clearly communicate the customer needs (?What?) and understand the Development response (?How?)
