Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee day-to-day editorial content strategy for LIVESTRONG.COM
- Provide direct management and give editorial direction and strategy priorities to team of editors and writers
- Provide leadership and active engagement with other teams involved on partner projects, such as product, SEO and business development, to execute business goals

- Create and manage production schedules for partner projects and ensure editorial team is aligned with highest priorities

- Assist in recruitment and management of subject matter experts to help ensure and maintain high-quality content creation for partners 

- Work closely with Demand Media Studios editorial, titling and product teams to set up tools for new projects, source writers and editors, find and add titles and perform other functions to ensure successful creation of high-quality content for partners 

- Ensure overall content quality is maintained via regular quality audits and ongoing collaboration with Demand Media Studios editors and a network of freelancers

- Perform other editorial tasks and projects as necessary when required to support business objectives
 

Requirements: 

- Bachelor's degree required.

- Journalism, English, communications or related field preferred
- Proven team player with strong interpersonal skills

- Eight years of experience in an editorial environment, with strong writing and editing background; at least two years of experience in direct people management
- Experience working with freelance writers, making assignments and providing feedback

- Ability to simultaneously balance multiple projects with competing priorities while working in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and ability to work independently

- Understanding of online publishing and the competitive landscape 

- Understanding of social media, especially Facebook and Twitter

- Efficiency, accuracy, dependability and strong attention to detail

- Solid Microsoft Office Skills; data management and Excel experience preferred

- Journalistic curiosity and energy to discover new topics; creative problem solving skills

- Proven experience working with a content management system

- Familiarity with AP style or other publishing style guides

- Knowledge of SEO fundamentals

- Strong project management skills
