Sr. Cost Accountant Optovue

The Sr. Cost Accountant will have substantial experience in accounting for inventory value, transaction accuracy and standard cost for a fast growing technology-driven products company.

Responsibilities:

Develop metrics goals for operations (working with Sr. VP of Operations).
Provide monthly reporting, explanation of variances, and action plans for performance improvement.
Manage month-end and year-end financial closing as they relate to manufacturing operations within established deadlines.
Perform monthly cost variance analysis and reporting related to gross margins, purchase price, manufacturing, work order and inventory variances.
Complete monthly inventory reporting package within established deadlines.
Maintain standard product costs and calculate standard cost roll ups.
Assist in the development of product pricing by providing timely and accurate costing data.
Coordinate the annual physical inventory count.
Perform reconciliation between the ERP perpetual report and the General ledger.
Provide detailed reports and assistance to External Auditors as required.
Support integration of new products into manufacturing sites.
Calculate the quarterly excess and obsolete (E&O) reserve analysis.
Trace engineering cost by project. Assist Engineering Management in estimating completion cost of projects.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor Degree is required, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
7 years of related experience, and at least two years at the senior level.
Superior communications skills, both written and verbal.
Recent Oracle experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience producing and presenting analysis and reporting for senior level management.
Manufacturing experience is highly desired.
Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
