DescriptionSummary
The Senior Development Engineer?s primary role is to provide the development of a highly complex tracking and process automation solution that manages Appriss?s workload. As a Development Engineer, you will help craft specific solution that leverage SOA to drive efficiency within Appriss? business processes.
Minimum Requirements
Education
oBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
oBachelor's degree in business, software engineering, computer sciences or related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience, or Characteristics
o8 years of application architecture and/or product development experience.
oExperience working with software systems, applications and network markets.
oExperience working with technical products, vendors, and families of technologies and company hardware and software products.
oExperience working with broad business area and knowledge of competitor products and services.
oExperience working with application design principles and product configurations.
oExperience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software to understand product line software and hardware.
oStrong analytical and problem solving skills for overall architecture, product or application design
oGood leadership skills to mentor and assist less experienced architects, designers, developers, in application development
oStrong communication skills to communicate with clients, support personnel, application development personnel and management
Helpful / Preferred
oDeveloped or supported CA Service Desk 12.6 or higher (CA SD).
oDeveloped or supported CA IT Process Automation (CA IT PAM).
oDeveloped or supported an Incident/Problem and Change Management Application.
oBasic understanding of ITIL Processes (Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Release Management and Service Level Management).
Functions and Responsibilities (?in addition to other duties as assigned)
1.Works directly with the Business Units by with initial design.
2.Coordinates with application developers, managers and client application experts to ensure that required features and modifications are delivered.
3.Conducts cost/benefit analysis to determine the feasibility of various approaches.
4.Defines and approves application standards and specifications.
5.Designs application modules that work together to produce desired output.
6.Works with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into the company's products.
7.Provides leadership and mentoring to more junior members of the team.
8.Evaluates new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company products.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Job occasionally requires lifting of moderately heavy items such as computer and office equipment (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis.

Some travel may be involved for both training and customer facing issues.
