Summary of Responsibilities:
This position will play a key role in the management of our data center operations providing SAAS solutions for our customers. An accomplished technical leader is required to continue to oversee infrastructure engineering, technology implementation, capacity planning/scaling, and operations.
Primary Responsibilities & Objectives:
Ensures the utmost level of accessibility of mission critical software/services & systems available to our client base.
Manage the data center design, technology implementation, capacity planning/scaling, and operations for multiple data centers.
Provide project & management leadership for infrastructure growth and deployment initiatives. You will be accountable for ensuring technology projects incorporate appropriate planning, technical analysis, budgets, and resource management in order to meet deadlines and objectives.
Project level involvement will vary to include, but not limited to the following: high-level designs, technology assessment, technical architecture review, staff & resources, implementation/deployment schedules, financial estimates and tracking/recording/reporting.
Provides leadership, manages diverse technology staff to effectively accomplish goals. Further promote a team environment with our talented internal team, leverage their diverse technical talents and expertise across multiple projects to produce results.
Develop and implement processes/procedures, ensure that established policies and procedures are followed for consistency across the organization.
Build a collaborative team. Communicate and collaborate effectively both inside the organization, and with outside vendors and clients. Works well with all levels.
Qualifications, Skills & Education:
Minimum of 10 years experience working in Data Center/IT operation environment, plus minimum of 5 years experience of managing multi-site/co-location data centers
Experience in managing SaaS is a must, cloud computing experience is a plus.
BS/MS in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering
Successful leader and team builder throughout. Solid management and leadership capabilities, at least seven (7) years successfully managing a talented diverse technical staff. Ability to effectively communicate internally as well as with external customers/vendors.
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
Extensive technical knowledge & operational experience with regards to Networking (CISCO/HP), Virtualization (VMWare), and SAN storage (NetApp).
Understands web-based software architecture/engineering as it relates to the infrastructure, and network operations.
Demonstrated success in project/planning management and maintenance of multiple co-locations/Data Center(s) in a high volume transaction environment.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and allocate resources in a dynamic, strategic and execution-oriented manner.
Track record of taking a combination of business, technology and budgets challenges to produce high-impact end results.
Ability to collaborate with engineering, product and operations groups.
