Prepare electrical designs for large scale industrial projects
Apply design knowledge in power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems, and equipment specification and selection
Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective resolutions
Supervise and direct a team of engineers, designers and support personnel
Interact with all engineering disciplines, construction project managers, and clients
Lead an electrical design group on large scale industrial projects
Work within company policy as outlined in the TAS Employee Handbook
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed
Must possess superior engineering skills
Must have advanced knowledge of electrical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable codes, standards and acceptable industry practices
Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial or institutional electrical engineering design
5+ years as a project electrical lead engineer
Must have experience as a project lead on complex, multi-discipline engineering design or EPC projects.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor or Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
Licensed as a professional engineer, by exam, in state of residence with the ability to be licensed in multiple states.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is at least 80 % to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
