Sr. Electronics/Firmware Engineer LumaSense Technologies
Principle Engineer responsible for design, implementation and support of the Firmware and Electronics for LumaSense?s Product Lines.
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Responsible for all engineering activities concerning product firmware and electronics life cycle, including:
Design of Firmware architecture for new products.
Writing Firmware for new products.
Debugging of Firmware
Support of Firmware during life of product, both new and existing.
Designing Electronics architecture for new products.
Creation of Electronics schematics and board definition.
Overseeing board layout and prototyping.
Support of Electronics during life of product, both new and existing.
Creation of documentation for transfer of new product to Operations.
Ability to create and run firmware validation tests.
Product Support to Operations, Service, Marketing and Sales.
Active team member in LumaSense teams working in the areas of development, production and support of LumaSense? Product Lines.
Clear communicator with the ability to convey knowledge to all levels of the organization and outside vendors and customers.
Competency in C.
Knowledge of Freescale Coldfire Microcontrollers and development tools or ARM Microcontrollers and development tools.
Analog Circuit Design.
Documenting designs for in-house and external development project is required.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively in a flexing work environment.
Proactively and constructively makes suggestions for process or product improvement.
Ability to think independently but must work within the constraints set by product architecture.
Ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative team environment.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic about their field, and about providing a high level of quality in their work.
Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
Knowledge of Microcontrollers other than ARM or Coldfire.
Experience creating drivers for TCP/IP, Telnet and other Ethernet interfaces.
Experience with ModBus, DNP3.0 and IEC61850 protocol.
Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio and C++ or C#.
Experience in DSP programming.
Experience in Filter and Servo circuitry and algorithms.
Experience in product transfer to in-house Operations or to a Contract Manufacturer.
Track record of successful product development and introduction.
Experience in a startup environment.
Bachelor?s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related degree required.
5+ years of experience working in a development role.
