The Dimensional Engineer will ensure that all products meet customer and company requirements. The successful candidate will have 3+ years in design engineering of complex mechanical or structural systems, with at least 3 years' experience as a dimensional engineer.
The effective candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently. He/she must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams at all levels across the company. The candidate will have completed, as a dimensional engineer, at least one full production cycle from production inception to post launch evaluation/support. Candidates need to be able to balance multiple projects requiring varying skill sets in highly dynamic and diverse working environment. They must be able to work independently, but also be a top contributor in small and large groups. They must be comfortable with representing the dimensional engineering agenda in meetings that frequently include senior managers.
Â§ A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or other technical discipline.
Â§ 3+ years' experience in a dimensional engineering role.
Â§ Completed at least 1 product launch cycle as a dimensional engineer.
Â§ Experienced with 1D and 3D dimensional variation analysis.
Â§ Current with ASME Y14.5-2009.
Â§ Comfortable with multi-variable capability analysis and statistical testing.
Â§ Catia or similar CAD system experience is required; Enovia experience is a plus.
Â§ Proof of proficiency in dimensional variation root cause analysis; JMP experience is preferred to Minitab.
Â§ Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.
Â§ APQP part validation experience is a plus.
Â§ Confident, well-spoken and orderly while presenting data to large groups.
