Seeking a talented CAD Engineer who will be responsible for defining and maintaining CAD tool technology in a mixed-signal IC design environment. Qualified candidate must be experienced with VLSI process technology and work closely with our analog mixed-signal design engineers, layout designers, digital designers, and foundry interface teams located throughout our world-wide design centers.
? Front-end CAD support for custom analog and mixed signal design flows using predominantly Cadence tools.
? Provide a broad range of CAD support including general user support, design kit (PDK) installation, library and IP maintenance, evaluation of new tools, and some Linux support.
? Develop and improve design methodologies and design flows.
? Creation of utilities and scripts for productivity improvement.
? FlexLM license server maintenance, license install and monitoring.
? Computational grid (RTDA NC) support and monitoring.
? Revision control (CVS, Subversion, Cliosoft) support and monitoring.
? Documentation and development of procedures, guidelines and best practices
? BSEE or MSEE.
? Min. 5+ years of experience in analog new product development IC cad or process support using both Cadence tools. Experience with Mentor and Synopsys tools a plus.
? Must have experience necessary to design and simulate basic analog and mixed-signal circuits using Spectre and Virtuoso.
? Must have experience working with PDK?s used by the Cadence/Virtuoso tool set. Need to be able to add schematic devices to an existing PDK, create CDF and required callback functions.
? Must be able to characterize device performance and perform analysis to predict product performance based on foundry-supplied and internally developed data.
? Must be familiar with interconnect modeling and estimation techniques for 40nm and below process technologies.
? Must be familiar with layout extraction techniques and how to apply extracted data to perform post-layout simulation.
? Pcell and standard cell library development a plus.
? Experience with physical verification (DRC and LVS) tools Calibre and/or Assura a plus.
? Programming languages: SKILL, PERL, Tcl, Unix Shell Scripting, C/C++.
? Must be proficient with Linux.
