DescriptionThis position focuses on development and productization of Tunable RF products for cellular handset and high performance applications. Product line includes high performance and high volume Digitally Tunable Capacitor (DTC), Antenna Tuner and Tuning Switch products in both packaged and die form.The candidate will lead products during the entire product life cycle from product definition through product release to end-of-life. Senior engineers are expected to work with a high level of autonomy, identifying and requesting resources to finish their projects. As part of a cross-functional product development team the candidate will support other essential disciplines including marketing and applications, project management, characterization, production and test engineering.
Roles & Responsibilities
Product Definition: Assist Marketing in defining new products through feasibility studies and technical competitive analyses.
Product Design and Evaluation: Schematic Capture, IC layout, Simulation, Package Analysis, Evaluation Board Design, Design Validation.
Product Documentation: Document all relevant product and design information to educate others on novel design techniques and provide guidance on product usage.
Product Characterization: Work with Characterization and Test Engineers to define, conduct and analyze data from product performance characterization.
Production ATE Development: Work with Test Engineers to define, develop and ramp production ATE solutions.
Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements
Ability to develop new products, executing to the product development flow and solving each project?s unique design challenges with minimal supervision
Proficiency in RFIC design, layout and simulation tools (Cadence, Spectre, ADS?)
Design knowledge of Analog and RF IC for commercial applications - bulk and/or SOI CMOS processes
Knowledge of CMOS and IC fabrication and how this impacts circuit performance
Detailed knowledge of one or more of the follow products: tunable capacitors, RF switches, power amplifiers, mixers, PLLs, etc.

Strong problem solving skills, including ability to multi-task
Basic understanding of generic radio architectures and handset RF Front-End components and antennas
Strength in documentation clarity and completeness
Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule
Hands on use of RF measurement equipment to validate performance
Experience using any of the following software tools: HFSS, Momentum, Matlab, JMP, MS Project, Datapower, LabView, National Instruments CVI
Education and Experience:
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related with 3+ years of relevant experience
