The Sr. IS Program Manager will manage a portfolio of complex projects and/or programs from the inception phase through delivery and ensure all aspects of the program meet scope requirements, budgetary constraints, and remain within approved timelines. This position serves as a project-based leader and liaison between the Information Systems team, functional business areas (including all levels of management) and vendors to manage the execution and delivery of technical projects, products, and services. This position works collaboratively with other functional areas to ensure projects remain aligned with business needs, as well as serves as a central information source for each project assigned.
The primary areas of responsibility include:
Program/Project Management
Defines the program/project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with business teams, management, and key stakeholders.
Sets clear program/project success criteria and disseminates that information with team members, stakeholders, and management in a timely and clear manner.
Tracks project milestones & deliverables; identifies & manages dependencies along the critical path.
Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and/or revision requests until transitioned into a maintenance team.
Business Analysis
Develops, analyzes, and maintains business requirements and/or functional specifications for systems which have a significant impact on existing or proposed solutions.
Performs business process modeling to facilitate the alignment of requirements/specifications with the technical framework and maintains that synchronization throughout the delivery cycle.
Develops, coordinates, and/or implements plans to test business specifications and functional processes.
Agile Methodology
Manages the software engineering release life cycle of assigned projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies where appropriate.
Assists in establishing and maintaining the Agile / Scrum framework.
Vendor Management
Ensures that vendors are responsive to needs in a timely manner meeting all expectations and/or SLA requirements.
Ensures vendor deliverables are reviewed and quality is achieved as planned to meet both qualitative expectations and financial constraints.
This position requires a Bachelor?s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related university degree; an advanced degree is preferred. The candidate for this position should possess 7 + years of experience in the technology solution development / delivery domain including 4 + year of experience in a technical leadership role. The candidate for this position must possess experience monitoring, tracking, and reporting on project status / health including executive dashboards. The candidate must be capable of identifying and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional and/or technical requirements. The candidate must be capable of overseeing all aspects of project delivery including setting timelines / milestones, assigning resources / responsibilities, managing user expectations, managing budgets, and managing risk.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 Professional (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook) will be required. Proficiency working with an enterprise collaboration tool will be needed. Solid working knowledge of software / web development concepts, database concepts, and internet technologies will be required.
The candidate for this position should possess a track record of managing cross-functional project teams, managing internal and external software development teams, and interfacing with multiple business areas and management levels within the organization. Experience using the Agile methodology is required. Training and/or experience integrating Agile / Scrum practices into a waterfall/iterative culture is a plus.
