Sr. IT Operations Engineer Wordnik

Wordnik is looking to expand all aspects of its technology team.

We are a San Mateo based startup. Wordnik was founded by lexicographer Erin McKean and is venture funded by an all-star group of bay-area investors. Wordnik builds and supports http://www.wordnik.com as well as a public RESTful API which serves millions of requests a day. We run with noSQL databases, analyze data with Hadoop, and use a variety of programming languages including Java, Python, Ruby and Scala.


IT Operations Senior Systems Administrator

Required Experience
- CentOS/Linux production system setup, monitoring & management
- Nagios/Cacti configuration & management
- Developing and executing DRP
- Mysql configuration/management
- Apache log analysis & intrusion detection experience

You'll do even better with:
- Mysql tuning experience
- Exposure to MongoDB
- Software programming/engineering background
