Position
As a Senior Java Application Developer, you will utilize your Java and UNIX technology skills to help build
an ETL system that is used to dynamically onboard files from our partners into the core business
database. You will be actively involved in contributing to all aspects of the application development
lifecycle from understanding requirements, to setting technical direction, through delivering innovative
products to the marketplace.
Specifically, your primary role will be to:
Design and develop Java software to populate, analyze, and move very large record data into an
Oracle databases in an automated manner
Design and develop application features with the goals of maximizing performance, scalability,
maintainability, quality, and extensibility
Develop code using established programming methodologies
Use your experience and creativity to find new ways to solve business problems
Work with development team to teach and learn best practices through code reviews and
collaboration
Engage in Agile team practices such as backlog grooming, release planning, sprint planning,
daily scrum meetings, and working towards incremental value producing feature construction
Document code and processes clearly
Develop unit tests and quality assurance procedures
Ensure data integrity and quality
Qualifications
BA or BS in Computer Science or related degree
4+ years experience and strong working knowledge in Java and Oracle
Unix shell scripting experience
Comfortable working in both Windows and Unix (Linux) environments
High energy, motivated self-starter with ability to take direction and manage tasks with minimal
supervision within an energized, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and listening skills
Innovative and creative, able to champion new ideas and initiatives with attention to detail
Flexible and resourceful
Desired Experience:
Oracle WebLogic application server experience
Oracle development DBA knowledge
Experience providing solutions in the Direct Marketing domain
