JOB POSITION: Senior Software Engineer, Systems
JOB LOCATION: Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Systems Software Engineer has the ability to perform engineering tasks in software development and the responsibilities include analysis, design, programming, unit and integration testing of new or existing products/systems. The Systems Software Engineer must have the ability to execute systems development projects with minimal technical direction. The Systems Software Engineer must be able to produce high quality, high performance software that meets company's software development standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, code and test software using latest technologies in Java/J2EE.
• Develops code derived from a design document using appropriate development standards
• Performs unit testing of the code and performs integration level testing with other features or products in the system.
• Provides complete, reliable, and prompt information to management.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of Infor systems elements and products, design and implementation tools used in the software development environment as well as current technologies in software development, computer systems and industry trends.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a large and complex software environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• A Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 4-5 years of programming experience in Java/J2EE.
• Proficient problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills.
• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Strong J2SE/J2EE programming and design experience
• Experience with n-tier architectures and standards based implementations
• Experience with distributed computing, concurrent programming or high volume request processing
• Working experience with Tomcat, Jetty, WebSphere, Weblogic
• Working knowledge of SOA (WS-*) technologies and standards
• Working knowledge of XML, SAX, DOM, JSON
• Web Development experience with JavaScript, HTML, XML, SAX, DOM, CSS, JSON, I18N
• Understanding of operating systems and Operating system security. Familiarity with Windows and Unix OS (AIX, HP, SUN) platforms
• Ability to lead design and discussions
• Ability to do rapid prototyping and iterative development
• Ability to do test driven development
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• Experience with general security domains: Authentication, Single Sign-on, Cryptography, Access control, Identity Management
• Experience with developing or using PKI and certificate based systems strongly preferred
• Experience with SAML, WSS, SPML standards strongly preferred
• Experience with Microsoft AD, Microsoft ADFS, SharePoint strongly preferred
• Experience with parsers, rules engines and rules based systems strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of RMI, Serialization, Java Sockets
• Experience with Java on client side, e.g. Swing programming
• Cloud development
• Familiarity with general LDAP concepts and JNDI
• Familiarity with directory products: Tivoli Directory Server, Microsoft ADAM, Novell, OpenLDAP
• Microsoft stack knowledge (ASP.Net, C#, WPF, Silverlight)
• C or C++ programming knowledge
• General SQL programming, NoSQL, Embedded RDBMS like Derby, H2, etc.
