Sr. Java Systems Engineer LiveScribe

Livescribe is developing its next generation pen platform and we are looking for an experienced runtime systems engineer with one foot in the C world and one in the Java world. Be a part of a tightly knit international team working with technology and product definition. You most likely have a background in modern smart consumer electronics and are self-motivated with a can do spirit and the conviction that you can make a difference.

Responsibilities:


Design and implement maintainable solutions driven by customer needs
Work together with product management and the executive team to drive platform value
Effectively communicate ideas, objectives and plans internally and externally to the firmware group and project team
Analyze and fix quality issues and performance problems
Closely work with QA to deliver quality on time


Qualifications:


5 years of industry experience with C and Java
Experience designing API:s and infrastructure
Excellent problem solving skills
Self-driven
Excellent communication skills
MS/BA/BS in software engineering or equivalent
Multiple shipped products
JNI/J2ME/JVM experience


Nice to have:


Understanding of Agile methods
Experience with test driven development
Embedded driver experience
Architect experience
USB experience
Experience with I18N and L10N, JSR
Web technology
Hardware design.
