Job Description:
Polaris's Customers are sophisticated top tier wireless carriers looking for innovative ways to develop, deploy and gain revenue from their Mobile Location Services offerings. Polaris Wireless has developed a low cost and highly accurate suite of mobile location products and applications. This position will be responsible to develop technical solutions, end-to-end system architectures and system requirements for developing products and applications that meet or exceed the wireless carrier's mobile location service requirements.
Responsibilities:
Overview of Responsibilities
? Lead Customer Support team with great sense of responsibility and ownership
? Lead Trials, proof of concept, IOT and FOA activities
? Product integration of Polaris Wireless Location Technology products in wireless carrier's core network over standard protocol interfaces such as Lb/Ls/Iupc integration and centralized fault & performance management system
? Propose and lead server setup, application installation, remote upgrades and updates
? Handle customer trouble tickets and service requests within customer SLAs
? Perform daily preventive health checks and keep all internal stakeholders informed on issues
? Set-up and monitor backups for customer configurations
? Troubleshoot customer issues, raises bugs and follow issues to closure
? Perform root cause analysis of technical issues
? Daily monitoring of all customer E911 Performance, follow up with corrective and preventive action
? Create and maintain proper documentation for customer configurations, test plans/IOT plans/integration acceptance/method of procedures (MOPs)
? Provide product feedback to product development
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Systems/Electrical engineering
? 5 - 7 years experience working for a GSM carrier and/or Wireless Infrastructure vendors
? Expert on GSM and UMTS networks - Signaling, interfaces, call-flows, operations, standards
? Hands-on experience of SS7 stack / SIGTRAN stack / SNMP.
? A-GPS control plane experience is a plus
? Experience supporting a 24x7 production environment
? Experience with Linux/Unix systems and scripting
? Some Team Lead experience along with some project management is a plus
? Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, FTP, SSH), general networking technologies, network architecture and connectivity troubleshooting
? Exposure to various sun-servers hardware builds, OS install, patching and maintenance
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Willingness to travel on a need basis ( < 20% of time)
? Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities
? Willingness to be on-call support, on a rotating schedule basis
? E911 experience is a big plus.
? Willing to travel 20% of time
