Lead a group of less experienced engineers in day to day tasks (team of 2-5 engineers).
Reviews engineering drawings and specifications to develop planning documents for part fabrication and assembly.
Ability to manage large projects with proper resource forecasting, material planning, and process development.
Prepares and releases work orders, and provides liaison support including facilitating authorized changes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Applies lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methods to assure product(s) quality, cost, and schedule requirements are met.
Performs other tasks as assigned by functional manager.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or other engineering degree and relative work experience) from an accredited college or university.
10+ years of experience working in the aerospace or composite manufacturing environment.
Experience in MRB activities including Root Cause analysis and Corrective Action implementation.
Experience in leading a team or project to completion within budget and schedule constraints.
Demonstrated ability to use software tools to support Manufacturing Engineering, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience utilizing ERP/MRP planning systems and bill of material interrogation for process planning.
Must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder.
Familiarity with CATIA V5, Visual Enterprise or other MRP systems.
Ability to work in a composite or metal manufacturing environment.
Ability to work on the manufacturing shop floor with manufacturing personnel.
May be required to support extended or alternate shifts.
