Role DescriptionThis role concentrates on the design & implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions, migration of our SaaS applications to a cloud provider - AWS, includes cloud administration, servers, storage, middleware, non-application software, networks, and the physical facilities that support the applications and business processes as required. Included in the focus areas is the critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components of the infrastructure, cloud providers, address security requirements working with CISO, cloud monitoring, deployment & provisioning tools etc. Sr Manager Cloud Operations is a hands-on opportunity to work in a public cloud for a enterprice company addressing critical marketplace innovation & pushing the envelope of a public cloud to address security, reliability, performance, availability and scalability of the cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Bootstrap Cloud Operations and hands on leadership working with the engineering team.
Manage & Build out the Cloud Operations team of 3-4 in 2012 ? Hire, retain & motivate.
Manage release management, provisioning, deployment.
Hands-on experience in Cloud Operations or SaaS Operations preferred.
Hands-on migration of SaaS applications to Cloud.
Implement Operational tools like deployment, provisioning, monitoring, performance measurement tools etc.
Responsible for performance, availability and scalability of the infrastructure.
An understanding of cloud solution approaches from a technical (infrastructure), service management, financial and sourcing perspective.
Define and lead proof of concepts and pilots to support the use of cloud computing.
Cloud environment administration (Amazon Web Services Preferred),
Responsible for Cloud production environment monitoring, performance, release/deployment, security, reliability, availability, capacity, latency, and other non-functional concerns.
This is a 100 % hands on role managing the Cloud administration, application Release management/deployment, Tools ownership & meet Availability requirement.
Would be a best fit for someone who has come from a traditional Datacenter infrastructure Linux system administration role and has recently moved into a Cloud infrastructure role over the last 1+ year.
Experience
B.S (Preferred M.S) in Computer Science.
5+ yrs of experience as a Manager of SaaS Operations.
At least 5+ years experience in Unix/Linux System Infrastructure Administration in a SaaS or Cloud Operations.
Proven track record with a minimum of 5+ years in Lead System Administrator,
2+ years of strong hands on background in data centers, networking, virtualization and service management.
Strong foundation in Virtualization & Service Management
Flexible, continuous learner, excellent communicator, works well in team environment, appreciates challenge, comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving.
