Position Summary: The Sr. Manager Software Development will be responsible for team developing real time embedded system software for Ethernet Layer1/Layer2 wireless bridge. System software includes WEB, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, SSH based management agent in C/C++.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Develop embedded software to enable complete management of the wireless Ethernet Bridge. Responsibilities include:
Manage objectives, priorities, trade-offs, as well as perform risk and performance management for the SW development team
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for the Software Development
Plan and lead all new and sustain software development
Determines viability and priority of all feature requests for the company's software platform
Oversees all software development to insure it meets architectural and quality standards
Writing requirements, functional and detailed specifications, design, implementation, unit and system testing
Documentation and testing of software as per quality requirements in a timely fashion
Get involved at a hands-on level designing and writing code including:
1. Implementation of standard Ethernet Interfaces, RMON, Ethernet-Like MIBs
2. Ethernet switch fabric configuration and monitoring
3. Design and development of UI (HTTP , CLI)
4. Enable complete device management with standard HTTP and SNMP based client applications
5. Develop and implement Wireless system control and monitoring algorithms
Required Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Technical:
Proven experience in embedded software development using C/C++
Proven experience in switch fabric configuration and run time control
Deep understand on Ethernet protocol
Working knowledge of networking protocols with an emphasis on Layer 2 and 3
Protocol experience including Metro Ethernet Standards, Y1731, 1588, Sync-E
MUST have experience in a majority of the following area:
1. Network processor programming
2. Board support packages and drivers development
3. Systems Infrastructure programming for networking equipment
Knowledge of C/C++ and object oriented design methodologies
Experience working with web user interfaces HTML/JavaScript/CSS
Experience working with SNMP MIBs and concepts of Network Management Systems
Ability to meet aggressive goals, a flexible hands-on approach with an orientation towards quality. Must be able to work independently in a deadline driven environment
Strong team player. Capable of interacting with H/W and S/W development engineers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education/Experience:
MS in CS with at least 15 years of software development experience
Proven experience of at least 5 years in leading SW development teams
