Responsibilities:
-- Support new product development and sustaining of the product line focused on durable components of the device: handpiece and charging dock
-- Design and package electro-mechanical systems focused on reliability, system performance, and COGs
-- Design test equipment and fixture; build prototype devices; write test protocols, conduct tests and complete reports
-- Ability to efficiently own and execute on multiple concurrent projects
Knowledge and experience in three or more of the following areas:
-- Plastic injection molding (single/multiple shot, over/insert molding, IMD, elastomers, etc.), metals (forming, machining, plating), joining techniques (sonic welding, heatstaking, adhesives, press fits, snap design, etc.)
-- Fluid dynamics
-- High pressure interfaces
-- Heat tansfer / Thermodynamics
-- Project management
Expected expertise and skills:
-- Extensive experience designing products using SolidWorks (surfacing, sheet metal, part modeling, assemblies, collaboration techniques) and related PDM systems
-- Proven track record using a variety of design tools and prototyping techniques to develop and transfer to production successful products that pass worldwide compliance requirements
-- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-- Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
-- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
-- BS or MSME or related engineering degree
-- Knowledge of FDA Quality System and Design Control requirements.
-- Three years in a medical device environment is preferred. Similar, regulated fields may also be considered such as aerospace
-- Ability to focus on and achieve scheduled milestones.
-- A drive to get the job done in the face of obstacles and time constraints, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed
-- Working knowledge of software programming and electronic circuit design. Ability to think as a systems engineer.
-- Experience with design of experiments, data collection and data analysis techniques (Excel, Matlab etc.)
