Sr. Mechanical Test Engineer (Vibration Test Lab) Tesla Motors

Description

Tesla Motors is seeking technically qualified and highly motivated engineers to be part of Teslas Mechanical Test team.

Responsibilities

Work with Tesla Engineering teams to design and run mechanical validation and reliability tests.

Skills and Qualifications

BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or other engineering field

7 -12 years professional experience minimum.

Experience designing, setting-up, and running mechanical validation testing including vibration tables, shock sleds, dynamometers, etc.

Instrumentation and data acquisition experience, NI/Labview experience preferred

ME CAD, CATIA V5 preferred.

Experience in fixture design and modal analysis of test fixtures is preferred.

Understanding of maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical test equipment

Background in metallurgy and failure analysis a plus.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work in diverse and co-located teams

Passion for alternative energy automobiles and energy efficiency.
