Sr. Microfabrication Engineer Second Sight Medical Products
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Research, plan, develop and document process steps and associated tooling related to the microfabrication of electrode array components.
?
Lead development projects: drive process development efforts by generating new ideas for improvement, demonstrating their effectiveness by trial runs, and then qualifying the new processes.
?
Work to improve yields.
?
Apply advanced analytical concepts to the planning and evaluation of processes.
?
Fabricate prototypes.
?
Develop test methods and procedures. Perform failure analysis.
?
Contribute to the patenting of new inventions.
?
Build and support vendor relationships.
?
Follow SOPs that make up the quality system, particularly Design Control.
?
Identify, define and prioritize process development efforts.
Qualifications:
?
PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering focused on thin films or MEMS.
?
High degree of expertise in assorted micromachining techniques such as photolithography, wet etching, dry etching, sputtering etc.
?
3+ years microfabrication work experience in industry, in addition to academic experience.
?
Knowledge of DOE, SPC and other statistical tools is highly desirable.
?
Polymer chemistry expertise is highly desirable.
?
Experience with a variety of materials characterization techniques (SEM, EDX, FTIR, XRD etc. ) is highly desirable.
?
Work experience in a highly regulated industry such as medical device or aerospace is highly desirable.
