Volusion is continually enhancing its core product platform and is seeking a highly qualified senior network engineer to design, implement, and operate next gen infrastructure for our rapidly growing environment.
This position would contribute to the architecture and design of our entire network infrastructure, be hands on with the configuration and maintenance of the network, create and maintain diagrams and project artifacts, mentor and train teammates, collaborate effectively across the organization, and provide world class customer service.
This position would be responsible for the architecture and design of our entire network infrastructure, would be hands on with the configuration and maintenance of the infrastructure, Network/Enterprise Monitoring and Prevention Systems, and technical security audits and events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in network architecture and design discussions for existing and new network implementations.
Engineer flexible and scalable solutions using routers, switches, wireless access points, load balancers, firewalls, and other network equipment to meet high availability and performance targets.
Collaborate with IT, software engineering, finance, human resources, and other teams to ensure network services meet the changing needs of an evolving, growing business.
Engineer process and procedures for managing, monitoring and maintaining up to date network environments
Assist in troubleshooting availability, performance, and security events, utilizing applications/appliances such as QRadar, Wireshark, Cacti, SolarWinds Orion, etc. to determine root cause and mitigation action plan
Assist with regular security assessment, testing, and technical remediation activities.
Assist with administration of network monitoring, configuration backup, and event handling systems
Communicate with third party hardware and software vendors and consultants.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
6+ years of experience as Network Engineer
3 to 5+ years experience managing and supporting complex LAN/WAN environments utilizing CISCO equipment
In depth knowledge of networking Windows OS and Linux a must
In depth knowledge of routing and redundancy protocols such as BGP, IGRP, IEGRP, OSPF, HSRP, etc.
Solid network and systems troubleshooting with root cause analysis experience required, including experience with internet security, encryption and TCP/IP.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows workstation and Server OS and UNIX/Linux OS
Knowledge of LAN, WAN, routers, switches, proxy servers
Knowledge of web hosting environments and tools
Knowledge of Load balancing and HTTP/HTTPS Session handling a must
Knowledge of Firewall, IDS, IPS a plus
Knowledge of packet sniffing tools a plus
CCNP/CCSP a plus
Scripting experience (VB, PowerShell, perl, python, php) a plus
802.1x experience a plus
Highly organized self-starter with an eye for detail who can maintain multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
Must be a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.
