General Description:A leading 24x7 Data Center Services Provider is seeking a Senior Network Engineer, Service Delivery to fulfill development and support of new and existing network architectures and design for product sets deployed by Peak10 Managed Services team. Manage design/deployment and development of new services to assure network architectural standards and design are adhered to. Candidate must possess the ability to effectively deal with high profile situations, efficiently troubleshoot systems/network/data problems, effectively manage issues to resolution, and successfully manage to service levels. Candidate must have strong and proven client relationship skills, strong written/oral communications skills, and experience in developing and enhancing operational procedures and methodologies in support of their responsibilities. This is an exempt position and will require on-call responsibilities and travel to Peak 10 data center locations on a routine basis.
Key Responsibilities:
? Manage resources that execute the current plan of record for networking projects, new development and scaling of existing infrastructure in the Managed Service Environment
? Work closely with network architecture to perform unit and benchmark testing, produce detailed design documentation and deployment guidelines and integrate new technology into existing designs.
? Provides an escalation point for data center operations and deployment support, managing deployments and validating implementation plans.
? Coordinates on product roadmaps and new hardware or software release schedules.
? Escalation support for Peak10 Network Engineering staff on all Managed Service Products.
? Manage technology, set goals and expectations, and manage resources.
? Assist with vendor management (hardware, transit, telecommunications services, transport, fiber assets and other related Infrastructure)
Requirements:
? Extensive Experience with network technologies and concepts, testing methodologies and development processes
? Experience in standards development required; presentations and representation in various industry forums must be present.
? Extensive Experience in Network operations, engineering development and/or architecture is required.
? Detailed knowledge of routing protocols, FCoE, network designs, Converge Network Adapters (Cisco Nexus a plus)
? Clear communication skills expected; regular reporting and project management needed.
? Need to be motivational and recognized as an expert in network engineering.
? Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or at least 10 years of experience in the field
