Responsibilities:

The Network Engineering position entails the design, configuration and maintenance of M5's network infrastructure (routers and switches) as well as client and interdepartmental technical support. A candidate with previous service provider experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

5 years hands-on networking experience

Stong knowledge of OSPF (BGP a plus)

Strong experience with basic Cisco router & switch administration

Strong knowledge of VLANs required

Network Design experience required

Must understand subnetting and network segmenting

Hands-on network troubleshooting experience

IP routing - configuration & troubleshooting
Understand route tables

Telco circuit knowledge & troubleshooting skills
T1 - serial interface configuration
MPPP and load-balancing
Loopback testing with local provider
Interface error troubleshooting
Must have working knowledge of channelized DS3s
PSTN basic knowledge
Experience with ISDN preferred

VoIP knowledge a plus

Strong communication and documentation skills required

Desire and ability to develop technical skills and take on additional responsibilities in order to add value to departmental and M5 mission and goals
