Job Description:
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Provides network security support the detection monitoring, analysis and mitigation of organized cyber threats against Army computer networks. Individual will be assigned to conduct intrusion detection operations. Member must be willing and able to be available for shift-work during non-standard hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
As a member of the Army 1st Information Operations Command (Land) Threat Analysis Section, works to execute information operations in partnership with CYBERCOM, Army CNO support forces, and other services and agencies.
Conducts both Internet and conventional research to support technical analysis and testing.
Technical and analytical research of tools to protect Army computer networks.
Analysis will include past incidents and techniques; application of historical techniques on new tools and the recommendation of best business practice.
Develops, tests and employs methods and tools that support CNO operations in support of the customer's mission in "cyber security".
Travel to other countries may be required.
Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must be familiar with networking hardware and software; including routers, switches, firewalls, and TCP/IP.
Ability to analyze tools and develop testing procedures.
Superior knowledge of computer operations and hacker techniques and exploits.
Ability to analyze data from various sources and draw conclusions regarding past and future cyber incidents.
Strong report writing skills.
Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II certified (GSEC, Security+, or SSCP) with a CND-SP certification (CEH, GCIH or GCIA) and must possess or obtain operrating specific certification within 6 months of assignment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree is required.
Experience with command-line software development languages and tools (e.g. C++, Perl, Unix shell scripts, debugging tools, etc.)
Strong Penetration Testing and Exploitation (PT&E) experience.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
In addition to base salary, employees recieve housing at no additional cost and a vehicle that is shared with other contractors. Individuals working on this contract are also eligible for straight time, cost of living and hardship allowances, making for a very attractive compensation package. The work environment characteristics are representative of those of an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical network operation center or security operation center. Must be able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
