Sr. Oracle DBA Xactly

Description

As a key member of the operations team, the Sr. Oracle DBA is responsible for managing, monitoring and improving the database architecture, operations procedures and processes to provide a high-availability, secure, efficient hosted production environment for our popular on-demand incentive management (ICM) solution. In this role, you will have an excellent opportunity to fully utilize latest Oracle technologies (11g with portioning and high availability), Web Services, SOA, Linux, J2EE, and XML.

Responsibilities:
Define metrics and approaches for monitoring performance, availability and resource usage of our on-demand applications
Provide day-to-day management of multiple production, staging and development environments and 24X7 on-call support
Set up and manage environments and servers for development, staging, sales and training (Oracle, Linux, JBOSS, and web services)
Work closely with our managed infrastructure and services provider to troubleshoot database, application and environment issues and ensure that system availability, performance and other services level of agreements be met
Work with the operations team, Engineering, and our managed infrastructure and services provider to define database and application architecture for production, staging and development
Ensure compliance with SAS 70 controls
Interact with Customer Support and Engineering regularly to resolve application issues and customer issues

Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience managing production Oracle databases, preferably in supporting web-based applications in a hosted environment
Extensive experience with Oracle 11g with partitioning and clustering
Advanced skills in SQL and PL/SQL and performance tuning
Able to build metrics and tools to track application and database availability, performance and job status
Strong scripting skills in either shell or PERL
Hands-on experience in Linux system administration
Apache Web Servers, JBOSS, XML, JSP knowledge a plus
Knowledge of data mart, business intelligence (Cognos and Oracle) and ETL (Pervasive and Informatica)
Experience with ERP, CRM and other enterprise applications a plus
Positive attitude and willingness to work at a flexible schedule and play multiple roles in a startup environment.
