Sr. Performance Engineer Flurry

Flurry is a fast growing big data company with over 2,000 servers handling 2.4 billion app sessions per day. We use HBase (Hadoop). We have mobile. We are growing 10% per month. In short, this is the coolest, high performance operation ever.If you join our team, you will lead our performance testing and capacity planning projects to ensure that new releases can handle our user and traffic load and do so with acceptable performance.
This position is in our San Francisco office in the South of Market area. You will report to the Director of Process Engineering who is a former performance engineer.
Responsibilities
Set up external monitoring to measure real user experience.
Create user load models for web traffic and for server API traffic.
Develop load test scripts, execute tests, and analyze results.
Help Dev optimize software designs. Help Ops optimize settings.
Determine current capacity and analyze trends to help Ops with resource planning.
Requirements
Minimum 8 year professional experience preferably in a small company environment with heavy traffic.
Senior-level experience in performance engineering, not just load testing.
Experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of Linux, Jetty or similar servers, MySQL, and networking.
Experience with New Relic, Keynote, or other monitoring services.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
Plus Requirements
Knowledge of HBase, Hadoop, or similar big data distributed systems.
Experience with Java performance profiling tools.
Ability to quickly load Nerf weapons.
