As the Sr. Platform Engineer in our core Engineering team, you will play a key role in the definition, design, and development of the platform powering our high-traffic and high-volume e-Commerce websites. You will be part of a passionate, high-energy team creating compelling new and innovative technologies to transform the way art is experienced online. Accomplishing this mission requires the adoption and implementation of a wide breadth of advanced massively scalable technologies ranging from machine intelligence and learning, novel search algorithms, big data, and more. Play a vital and strategic role in the planning, design and development of the core technology for our next-generation world-wide e-commerce websites and mobile applications across 25 domains and 17 languages
Guide internal and external technology interaction and facilitate technology innovation
Lead technology evaluation and solution prototyping
Characterize and drive the company technology standards and best practices
Perform prototyping to validate implementation approaches
Develop core personal and group technology talents
Extensive experience developing in .NET C# and other Open Source languages and frameworks, WCF/REST-based Web Services and Business API's.
Proven experience in providing technical leadership to project teams of Software Engineers
Solid foundation for software architecture and software engineering practices with a passion for engineering complex, yet simple and powerful web platform solutions
Experience with tuning and optimizing high transaction environments with clear understanding of implications and solutions for scaling high-traffic SQL and NOSQL environments
Experience with mocking frameworks, dependency injection, and aspect-oriented programming
Experience with NOSQL environments like Mongo DB, HBase, Hadoop, and Map Reduce a plus
Experience with Splunk, Hudson/Jenkins, and Continuous Integration environments a plus
Experience with Agile and Test driven development a plus
BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred
