Description: Sr. Process Engineer
Working within the engineering team, this position is responsible for designing and executing asset utilization improving and capacity expanding projects within the manufacturing environment. This position requires judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria while devising new approaches to designs, process technology, and problems. Will be responsible for all aspects of multiple, simultaneous projects within a large range of size and complexity.
Duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
?Designs and develops new processes and equipment.
?Identifies, investigates, and evaluates feasibility of new or updated technology to improve existing processes.
?Develop a keen understanding of the manufacturing environment, the process technology, and the product through the stages of the production process.
?Process design including PFDs, P&IDs, utility sizing, process layout, equipment specifications, submittals, selection, and drawings.
?Assures that components and system designs are selected which prioritize safety while optimizing efficiency, delivery, and cost.
?Ensures that new processes and equipment are manufactured to and operate according to the design criteria.
?Develops buy-in and takes ownership of the design with relation to operations.
?Works with appropriate plant resources to ensure timely review of design(s).
?Data collection, analysis, and interpretation to better understand process problems and how to solve.
?Effective troubleshooting techniques.
?Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements while managing the project risk.
?Identifies resources needed to complete projects.
?Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
?Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
?Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
?Active involvement in the commissioning of process equipment both new and improved.
?Estimates cost for and then manages project budget.
?Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
?Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
?Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
?Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
?Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
?Part of core project teams for new facility construction and expansion.
?Provide core process engineering for a variety of both small and large scale projects.
?Provide process engineering support for projects managed by other engineers or outside resources during all phases of projects.
?Utilize the necessary engineering and construction management resources to complete assigned projects.
?Provide process knowledge and troubleshooting techniques for process related issues.
?Understanding the process technology, its benefits and limitations and how to make improvements that improve safety, reduce cost, and increase productivity.
?Development of and documentation for Most Effective Technology (MET) guidelines for existing and new processes and plants.
?Working with contract engineering firms to gather data, develop ideas, design, identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate price and delivery to conform to project goals, place orders as appropriate, expedite processes as necessary, transfer ideas to operations.
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
?A BSME or BSChE degree is required
?8 ? 10 years experience in a Manufacturing environment, Chemical processing preferred.
?3-5 years proven chemical process engineering experience
?3 -5 years proven capital project experience
